Active as Independent Therapist

Therapy practice: online and in the Netherlands

I hold a Master’s degree in Educational Sciences and am a certified therapist trained in Ericksonian Psychotherapy, Somatic Experiencing® (SE™), and Integral Somatic Psychology® (ISP™). With more than 30 years of professional experience, I am specialized in the treatment of complex stress- and trauma-related conditions, working with individuals, groups, and organizations. My areas of expertise include trauma recovery, stress management, crisis intervention, professional supervision, group facilitation, and training.

Over the past 25 years, I have combined my clinical practice with extensive international experience in diverse cultural contexts, including Afghanistan, Burundi, Cambodia, Colombia, Iraq, Pakistan, Rwanda, and South Sudan. Through my work in humanitarian and development settings, I have developed specialized expertise in mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), capacity strengthening, training and curriculum development, and the integration of culturally sensitive approaches to mental health care. This experience continues to inform my work with non-governmental and humanitarian organizations worldwide.

To deepen my  expertise in trauma treatment, I completed the three-year Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner training in 2019, developed by the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute founded by Peter Levine. Prior to this, I completed the Integral Somatic Psychology® training (2017–2018), developed by Raja Selvam. This advanced clinical approach enhances therapeutic effectiveness through the integration of bodily awareness, emotional processing, energy regulation, and consciousness within psychological treatment.

I currently run a private therapy practice in the Netherlands, where I provide specialized support to individuals experiencing stress, trauma, and related psychological challenges. In parallel, I serve as a senior mental health consultant for local and international humanitarian organizations operating in fragile and conflict-affected settings..
